çCaptains’ Rest Golf Courses Spain Spotlight

Miraflores

Miraflores is located in the hills of the Mijas Costa which offer breathtaking views of the countryside down to the sea. The centrally positioned clubhouse is perfectly located to take advantage of the magnificent panoramic scenery.
Designed by Falco Nardi and opened in 1990 the course has a number of elevated greens so taking a buggy here would be a sound option.

Parador (Malága Golf Club)

Parador Golf caters for all golfers with its wide fairways and very little rough – and is one of the few courses on the Costa Del Sol that is actually walkable – •now consisting of 27 holes, Parador gives the option of playing either the Old Course (half parkland & half links) or the Links Course utilising the newer nine holes down by the beach.

It is always best to play as a group at Parador to enjoy the benefit of the best prices.

La Cala

LA CALA ASIA
La Cala Asia Course is generally regarded as the easier of the 3 full length 18 hole courses currently in operation at this impressive complex, and some may say the prettiest with rolling fairways & large greens. Whilst it is regarded as the easier course, beware as this could lull you into a false sense of security as any wayward drive will find its way into deep rough & more!
LA CALA AFRICA
La Cala Africa Course, the toughest of the 3 courses meanders up to the top of the La Cala golf complex and provides a real true test of golf without taking any prisoners!
Being in wild Boar country you won't want to stray too far off the fairway!

LA CALA EUROPA
The newest of the trio opened in 2005 requires good course management to get round the course in a reasonable score with blind holes and uneven lies making it a difficult but sensible test of golf.

Mijas

MIJAS GOLF - LOS OLIVOS
Designed by Robert Trent Jones sr Los Olivos is one of 2 full length 18 hole golf courses at Mijas.
With substantially more trees than Los Lagos, and rolling fairways, the back nine has recently been completely refurbished to cover more area to provide more benefits to the visiting golfer including larger teeing areas & greens.

MIJAS GOLF - LOS LAGOS
Los Lagos is the older of the two courses opening in 1976, designed by Robert Trent Jones and at 6,348 metres is one of the longest courses on the Costa del Sol.
As the name suggests there are plenty of water hazards to provide some difficulty, although like Los Olivos there is no rough to speak of to give you a chance off the tee providing you don't find the water!
